The new application process for the Microsoft Partners in Learning for Schools Programme (formerly the Innovative Schools Programme) will be open to interested schools on March 15th. The application process will run from March 15th 2012 to May 15th 2012. The final school selection will take place on June 30th 2012. In order to apply for the Innovative Schools Pathfinder status your school must 1st be registered on the Partners in Learning Network (www.pil-network.com). A complete school profile must be filled in.
- Who can participate?
The application process is open to any primary or secondary school around the world. Both public and private schools are welcome to apply.
A school must already be a Microsoft Partners in Learning School member. Become a Microsoft Partner in Learning School at: http://www.pil-network.com
A maximum of 60 Pathfinder Schools will be selected into this year’s “class.” These schools must demonstrate scalable and replicable models that can influence schools within their own countries, as well as regionally and globally.
- What are the criteria for being selected as a Pathfinder School?
School leaders from selected schools must attend the Partners in Learning Global Forum in Greece, November 4 – 9, 2012.
Schools must complete all sections of the online application.
Schools must make a 2-3 minute video (details are outlined in the online application)
Schools must have leadership support and commitment at a school and local government level.
Schools must involve community members and leaders in the decision-making and planning process.
Team members must be fluent in English.
Schools applying from Ireland (North and South) will also be required to:
Have a minimum of 50% of the teaching staff registered on the Partners in Learning Network. (www.pil-network.com) with completed profile (with picture if possible) and school details included. A “how to” document can be found HERE
Please note for NI Teachers and schools: when registering your school and for the teachers- you must choose “Northern Ireland” in the country drop-down list.
DO NOT enter Ireland or UK if your school is in NI
Your school must complete the Partners in Learning School Research (PILSR- www.pilsr.com) by the May 15th cut-off date for submission closure. This takes approximately 20-30 minutes and a minimum of 75% of the teaching staff must complete.
Special consideration will be given to schools which are Microsoft IT Academies (or considering to do so in the coming school year)
These additional requirements are for Ireland only and will not be part of the online application process
